Grand Priory of Scandinavia National Chapter 1st of April 2017
Saturday the 1st of April conducted Grand Priory och Scandinavia National Chapter, Investuture and Knights prom.
This year events performed in a beautiful Lund in the presence of 56 Knights, 43 relatives and 5 postulanter. The day began with International Chapter conducted in Domkyrkoforum right next to the Lund beautiful cathedral. Our realatives was while on a guided tour of the Cathedral and visited among others giant Finn.
Our relatives joined to the Domkyrkoforum and a Knights Lunch was enjoyed.
Five (5) excited postulanter joined the Abbey Church at 14:30 and duty officers had prepared the National Chapter and postulanterna was well taken care of by the introducer.
All relatives and Knight joined at 15 o'clock and the church was filled. The procession started 15:30 and ended 17:30. Five (5) postulanter became knights, five were promoted to a higher degree and Johan Wåhlen, K.G.O.T.J was installed as Grand Prior of Sweden.
After a short walk from the Abbey Church we entered Grand Hôtel and a welcome drink was served and lively discussions took place. The Master of Ceremonies Peter Öberg hit the bar and tables couples lined up outside the Grand Hall. The doors opened, and to the strains of "non nobis Domine ..." took the visitors their seats.
The menu for the evening was "Nordic Elegance" which consisted of an appetizer of Frothy soup of mussels from Bohuslän and nettle, pickled cucumber, fennel and dill, to the main course was served Spicy fried lamb with smoked add, parsnips, pickled mushrooms from Hällestad and wild garlic and this culinary trip ended with dessert mousse on white valrhonachoklad, poached rhubarb cake with Grand oak barrels stored snaps.
The new Knight's speech was carried by Carolina Lindström, K.T.J and promoted Knight's speech was carried by Tom Erik Nøkleby, K.G.C.T.J.
Thank you speech was carried out by Johan Wåhlén, K.G.O.T.J to his new office as Grand Prior of Sweden and Grand Prior General Christer Blomberg, K.G.C.T.J. thanked the outgoing Grand Prior of Sweden Per Ölund, K.G.C.T.J for his many active and hard worh in the Order. He recieved tha Grand Prior General golden Plaque.
Knight's day ended with dancing and Champagne Lottery.
The event was planned and carried out by the Knights in southern Sweden because this year it should have been in Denmark. The host of this year's National Chapter was Priory of Sweden.
